The Real Uganda aims to bring the best prepared, most culturally sensitive volunteers to its partner programs. We want to empower local leaders and enable local people to improve their lives, on their terms. We want to show the outside world that Ugandans are in charge of their own development, and are proud to share their progress. In aid of this, I write a periodic blog about life, culture, and volunteering in Uganda. I thought this would be a great place to compile a “Best Of” for our potential and upcoming volunteers.

These posts will give you a good idea of our passions and sentiments when it comes to Uganda. We work hard, but don’t take ourselves too seriously. We understand that Uganda is a country like any other, and that people are people no matter where they come from.
